More about Ayurveda and our ALL SEASONS philosophy

According to Ayurveda, our minds and bodies are interwoven with nature and its elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Just as these elements make up the world around us, we each have these elements within us to varying degrees, creating our unique mind-body type. You might think of it as your unique inner climate.

As we move through the day and life, our inner climate and sense of equilibrium can fluctuate according to our lifestyle, sleep, diet, stress, and many other factors including the weather and seasonal influence. In Summer, when it is warm, the fire element (Pitta) is abundant in the environment and our bodies and minds can heat up too. In Autumn and Winter, when it is dry and windy, the air and space elements (Vata) are predominant. In late Winter and Spring, when it is damp and cold, the earth and water elements (Kapha) dominate.
